San Diego Handyman’s Heating and Air Conditioning is certified to install, maintain, and repair most home air conditioning systems. Whether a new central air conditioner, ductless mini-split, heat pump, or high-velocity A/C unit, we can help you decide what fits your home, lifestyle, and budget. Once installed, a certified technician is always available for routine maintenance and repairs as they occur.
Central Air Conditioner
Central A/C split units distribute cool air throughout your home via your existing ductwork and registers. If your home already has existing air ducts, a central A/C system could be integrated with your current system, or ductwork could be added to accommodate it. San Diego Handyman’s Heating and Air Conditioning is a factory authorized dealer of Carrier A/C systems and is NATE certified to service and maintain all major brands of central air conditioning units.
Ductless Mini-Split Air Conditioners
Ductless mini-split air conditioners are most common in homes without existing ductwork. They are comprised of an outdoor compressor and indoor air-handling units that are connected by a small conduit. Their small size and ability to cool individual zones make Mini-splits a good choice for room additions, apartments, and other areas where ductwork isn’t an option. San Diego Handyman’s Heating and Air Conditioning can evaluate your home to correctly size each indoor unit for the correct location and installation, to maximize its efficiency and your comfort.
High-Velocity Air Conditioning
High-velocity air conditioning is a central air conditioning system that utilizes flexible round ducts that can easily slide behind existing walls, snake between joists, and stay out of sight without having to add bulky ductwork and bulkheads to conceal them. San Diego Handyman’s Heating and Air Conditioning is an authorized Unico and Spacepak installer. If central air conditioning has been off your radar because of radiant heat, we can design and install a High-velocity air conditioning system to meet your needs and budget. Our factory authorized and NATE certified technicians are continuously trained to service and maintain your high-velocity air conditioning for years to come.
Heat Pumps – Geo-Thermal Heat Pumps
Heat pumps work much like central air conditioners with the added benefit that they also heat your home during the cooler months. Similarly to an air conditioner, it circulates a refrigerant through coils and a compressor to move thermal energy from one area to another. A heat pump consists of an outdoor unit that contains the condenser coil and the compressor and an indoor unit that contains the air handler and the evaporator coil. A reversing valve allows the heat pump to reverse the refrigerant cycle sending the heat of your indoor air outside during the summer and drawing in the ambient thermal energy of the outside air during the winter.
Our heat pump installation service can customize your entire system based on the size of your living space, your budget and what type of ductwork works best for your home. Because your heat pump operates year-round, our heat pump services not only include the installation of new systems but the replacement of old equipment, as well as repair and routine maintenance.
